ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP

We are a non-profit organisation made up of voluntary members who are actively and directly involved in commercial wheat/maize milling. Our membership ranges from small entrepreneurial operators to blue chip food conglomerates.

NAMM : MEMBERSHIP (MAIZE)

• Non-restrictive voluntary membership
• Representation based on milling through output
• One vote per 35 000 tons
• Funding determined by members:
• current levy 50c per ton of dry maize milled for human consumption.

NCM : MEMBERSHIP (WHEAT)

• Non-restrictive voluntary membership
• Representation based on market share within the National Chamber of Milling:
• greater than 17,5% = 12 votes
• between 2,5% and 17,5% = 6 votes
• between 1% and 2,5% = 1 vote
• less than 1% = 5 votes collectively
• Funding determined by members:
• Current levy 50c per ton of dirty wheat milled

Our membership represents just over 80% of the maize milling market and 98% of the wheat milling market.

Members of the Association/Chamber are required to submit information on a monthly basis for compilation into industry statistics. The membership levy is determined from the tonnage information on the monthly statistical returns. The initial subscription is currently R300 per annum, plus the normal levy as stated above.

The Association/Chamber's next annual general meeting will be held on 17 March 2006.
